Hey Guys I live in BC and was wondering if theres any good local places to get things like G10 and carbon fiber? as well can you use just carbon fiber or G10 for a frame lock folder on the opposite side of the lock and what is the difference between G10 and Micarta?

I suspect that most of us have been buying synthetic materials online. Canadian Knifemaker Supply, USAKnifemaker, Jantz etc. I can't comment on using synthetics on a frame lock.

If I recall correctly, G10 is glass and resin. Micarta is either paper or canvas or cloth etc. and resin. My personal experience is that Micarta is much easier on the skin. G10 can be really itchy and warrants wearing extra protection; long sleeves, tight cuffs etc. Either way you'll want to be using a decent respirator.

+1 on the respirator. Aside from CKS, i get my synthetics from Masecraft. However, they do have a minimum order, though if you're looking at CF that's not an issue. Also, make sure they don't ship UPS, they have been known to do that to Canada.
