todays progress involves carving the Celtic Boar for the handle in Ebony. Family name will be spelled out in Runes on the back of the handle

only on the handle to verify size will not risk the handle with a slip of the dremel tool. figure I may need to make a couple of little chisels to get at the little details.

With these old eyes I may have to get a magnifying glass for the magnifying work lamp. working so slowly I took three passes to get through the paper:roflmao

Well I am at a point I have to stop and maybe make smaller gouges or something so I can get the little details. About 12 steps past my skill level as a carver.

A little more shaping and overall scrapping of the part, scrapping gets things smooth fast and handy when you want to remove a significant amount of material and have a smooth finish. Works really well on Ebony because it is very hard and oily.

Now It is starting to look like a really well worn antique type piece so I have to decide if this is far enough and show the owner to be. He does like antiques so this might be right up his alley. What do you guys think? Still considering a little Gold leaf in spots

Ignore the chip in the Pommel, there is still another piece that will added on and a silver cap to hold the stone. That is once I find a chunk of Silver to work with.
