Here is a quick and dirty knife I just finished. Forge finish, edge quench in 5160. The handle has a small screwdriver/pry tip. She is a little too thick for me at 1/4" at the spine.

I liked the style when I saw some pics on the web, now that I made it I'm not too sure I like it. I may regrind it a little and throw some scales on it.

Any opinions are wanted, positive or negative

Here's my 2 cents for what they're worth...

I like the shape. It looks like a good all around working knife and the pry tip adds to that. The 1/4" thickness doesn't bother me but I'm not crazy about the cord. It fits the "plain and simple" look of the knife, but I just don't like it. Some simple wood scales, micarta, or G10 would work better for me.

The cord wrap is different and I’m still on the fence about it. The handle feels good in the hand, which surprised me I thought it would be too thin. I will kick it around for a day or two and decide if I will leave it or change it up a bit.
    Thanks for the input

I like the way it feels in the hand so I'm going to leave it alone. I did build this guy to go with it [IMG]

The hatchet is 5160 edge quenched around 3/8" thick. I have not used it much but it cuts good.

How it feels is the most important thing.
The hatchet looks great. They make a good pair to take into the bush.
