Hi all. I made myself a kydex press last year and it works well. It's your basic two slabs of wood with a hinge and some foam in the middle. You clamp the end shut. It works well but there's always fumbling around with the clamp while your're trying to hold the kydex in place and it's just a bit of a hassle. Has anybody invented a cool way to create a bench mounted press that has one handed operation? Maybe something like a kydex vise or similar. I'm not sure what i'm looking for exactly, just something easier than using a clamp. It's clumsy. Thanks everyone.
How about converting a panini or quesadilla press ? get fire proof foam....glue it to either sides and heat up that sucker!
oh man, that's genius... not the heating it up part but the mechanism they use. It applies even pressure to the whole surface right? Now just to try to replicate that. THanks Peter!! I love this forum.....
