Like the leather, it is from the scrap bin as well. It is Nyltex waxed synthetic thread from Tandy. It come waxed but I wax it again before I use it then run it through a piece of denim cloth to melt the wax in. The stuff I used for this is a ball I had for about 25 years. It is still as strong as the day I bought it.
The tooling really gives a nice finished product too.
That is a wonderful idea. The dollar store sells forks, and I'll get some to do that with.

Speaking of stacked leather handles, I just got a commission tonight to make a katana with a stacked leather handle, custom tsuba and pommel.
