Hi folks. New user here. I've some some work with 4140 and mild steel projects, some railroad spikes and things but I want to try Damascus and have seen someone people on here from Winnipeg making some beautiful pieces. Where do you get your material? I've tried so many local suppliers and half them haven't even heard of 15N20. Any tips?

15N20 is a steel used in industrial band saw blades. I am sure that there is other uses but this is the most common that I know of. knifemaker.ca does sell it as well if you want new steel. I have used it also for regular stock removal as well.

I have a friend at work keeping an eye on the bandsaw for me when it breaks but hoping it doesn't take too long. I have an order sitting in cart on alphaknifesupply. I took a look at knifemaker but looks like shipping is way more than the steel so I'm sort of holding out but I'll take another look

It's nice that you have the work option. I haven't bought out of the states as I always get jacked over on something, freight or duty usually. I also work in a business with a lot of "Well I can get that online for" statements. When I order from knifemaker I get a bunch which makes the shipping easier to swallow. That being said those are some real good prices on Alpha.

It looks tp be about 60$ shipping on alpha but still paranoid about an extra importing cost or something. I have lots of 4140 and mild steel at work but not much else. I'll post with shipping results when it arrives to let the page know if its worth it

Jesse I have lots of 15N20. It is new and all sheared into 1'' x 6'' pieces which I use for my Damascus billets.

How many pounds are you looking for ?

How many pieces per pound? And how much are you getting rid of?
